Today we have lost the understanding that evangelism is part of the biggest miracle. It is not something we can manipulate. It is not something we can get more converts with because of the size of our amplifier, our cleverness or the friendliness of our church meetings.

Evangelism is not about being reasonable and clever it is about the power of God. According to the Scripture the message of the gospel is foolishness to those who don't understand and believe. It has to be perceived this way for God to get glory. We need to believe this. This will keep us from being people pleasers.

When we go and preach the gospel -- where is our confidence? Our confidence needs to be in the message we preach (Christ and him crucified) and in our God to bring conviction in the hearts of those who listen. Our confidence for converts must be solely in God as he is the only one who can give new life to a sinner. No amount of manipulation and cleverness on our part can make that happen. He has chosen to save through the foolishness of what is preached and no other way.

A hearer's salvation is between him and the Lord. Our responsibility is merely to preach and pray with our confidence in God and his message.

We are trusting God for the greatest miracles! What are you trusting in?
