In 1980 Bob van Maren came to the Netherlands from New Zealand and founded the work of OAC Nederland.
Later in the early 1990s Gerrit Verdouw took over and led the work for some years.

Matt Vlaardingerbroek joined the work as a full-time evangelist too. Later he went into a church planting ministry in which he is still involved. There were several associate evangelists involved in the work during this time.

In 1998 Gerrit decided to also go into a church planting ministry and left OAC Nederland. This left the organisation without any full-time worker and without direction for five years.
